Fred Franklin, PLS, Owner
Fred started his surveying career in 1984 working for an engineering company in Lakeland, FL. It wasn't long before he realized his love of the profession. He started his first subcontracting land surveying crew in 1989. In 1991, Fred moved his family to Nebraska and began working toward his license. In 1992, he became a licensed land surveyor and started his company, Alpha Land Surveying, in 1996.
Fred has been the Burt County Surveyor since 1999 and was the County Surveyor for up to 5 other counties at one time (Cuming, Thurston, Dixon, Dakota and Burt.) Fred has also been an active member of the Professional Surveyors Association of Nebraska since 1997. In addition to his love for surveying, he spends much of his free time as the State Chairman of Nebraska USA Wrestling.

Ivan Hurst, Crew Chief
Ivan graduated from Papillion LaVista High School and attended Metro Community College studying Land Surveying. He is currently enrolled in the University of Maine to further his land surveying skills in addition to working full time for Alpha.
"I have been with Alpha Land Surveying since January of 2019, working both in the office, and field. In the office I am always drafting surveys, working with surfaces, or working on anything survey related. Currently I am enrolled with the University of Maine, and am working towards my Bachelor degree in Land Surveying. My favorite part about surveying is the mix of working indoors and outside, along with the exposure to new technology. Eventually I plan on becoming licensed and building my career as a Surveyor."
